(BID) as a law office authorized to process visa applications, including 9(g), 9(a), 9(d), 13(a), 13(g), PRV, TRV, SVEG (definition: The Special Visa for Employment Generation.), SRRV (definition: The Special Resident Retiree's Visa, a special resident visa for retirees.), SIRV (definition: The Special Investor's Resident Visa, a special resident visa for investors.), ROHQ and 47(a)(2) visas.
In general, Philippine law does not provide for absolute divorce between most spouses, and the rules can differ for certain groups. Depending on your situation, the available remedies may include declaration of nullity (definition: A court case asking the court to declare that a marriage was void from the start under the law.) or annulment (definition: A court case asking that a marriage be declared void or voidable on grounds recognized by law. The grounds, process and effects depend on your facts.) of marriage, legal separation (definition: A court order that lets spouses live apart and separates their property while the marriage remains in force, so neither spouse can remarry.), or judicial recognition of a foreign divorce. Which remedy fits depends on the facts, so please consult a lawyer about your case.
